💬 Life Is a Daring Adventure
Helen Keller · Author, educator & disability-rights advocate
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."
She Knew Exactly What Safety Costs
Helen Keller lost her sight and hearing before she turned two, then learned to read, write, and speak with the help of her teacher, Anne Sullivan. She went on to graduate from Radcliffe College and spent her life writing, lecturing, and advocating for people with disabilities. She wrote this line in her 1940 book, Let Us Have Faith.
Her argument wasn't that risk is fun — it's that the security everyone chases is mostly an illusion anyway. She'd lived the alternative to daring, and it wasn't actually safer. It was just smaller.
Pick one thing you've been avoiding because it feels uncertain, and take the smallest possible step toward it today. You don't need the whole leap — just proof that daring beats standing still.
